Robert F. Kennedy Stadium

Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium open in 1961 and is a multi-purpose stadium in Washington, DC. RFK was one of the first major stadiums designed to host both baseball and football. U.S. presidents traditionally opened each season by throwing out the first ball in this stadium. Music fans have also been thrilled by performances under the stars.

It received its present name 8 years later when it got named after the murdered senator Robert F. Kennedy.  It is located about two miles due east of the US Capitol building. The capacity is 46,000 seats. It has a natural grass playing field, 8,000 parking spaces and is metro accessible.
